Did Symantec Know About Slammer And Not Tell?
According to this press release from Symantec http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/content.cfm?articleid=1985&EID=0 , the company knew about the Slammer worm well before it began to propagate. Yet, Symantec did not report the danger to those who were not its paying customers, allowing the worm to spread nationwide before precautions could be taken to limit its spread.
