"They said they couldn't connect the dots, but once the dots were connected and the picture was drawn on the morning of 9/11, why did they do nothing?" Ms. Breitweiser told The Associated Press. "Why was the president allowed to sit for 35 minutes with a group of second graders when this country was under attack?"
Elizabeth Kovalcin, whose husband, David, 42, was on American Airlines Flight 11, which hit the north tower of the World Trade Center, said she did not fault the government and was not angry.
"What I will have a problem with is if we did mess up, that we don't admit it," she said. "I can forgive anyone for this if they admit it, but if they cover it up or if we don't change it, then I'll have a big problem, and they'll know it. They'll hear from me."
