Why Aren't There Enough Troops in Iraq?
All of a sudden there is less talk of shock and awe, of lightning moves and a swift decision in the war in Iraq. Our leaders are preparing us for a long struggle. At the same time, the determined Iraqi resistance has led to more heated talk about whether there are sufficient ground troops in Iraq to do the job.

The fact is that more ground troops are needed. And more ground troops are on the way. The relevant questions are these: Will this second infusion be sufficient, and why weren't these troops there when the war started?
