Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care (2002)

Although those categorized as minorities make up more than half the US population, they still receive a lower quality of healthcare than whites even when insurance status and income are compatible. According to the report, sources of this incongruence is rooted in historic and contemporary inequities and involve many participants at several levels. The study committee focused part of its analysis on the patient/system level factor and the clinical encounter factor.
